Character sketch: Seth
Seth didn’t think it was possible for his sister’s grin to get any wider. “You’re officially eighteen, Seth! The age that you would’ve taken over the business if fake-dad hadn’t died.”
She was standing in front of him, at their favourite restaurant, the one with the famous service. It was a celebration lunch.
Seth realised he didn’t have that infamous scowl on his face. He didn’t have any expression on his face. He forced a smile, afraid Dylan would think he didn’t like it, and dropped hers. He was a subtle man, and it wasn’t always obvious when he was happy. So he had to fake it.
He was wrong, it did get wider. Now his sister was giggling and jumping for joy. She loved seeing him happy.
There were few people he would smile for. Dylan was top of the list. Soon she was leading him to their table. She zipped off for a moment, making an order, When she got back, Seth eyed her immediately, a question in his eyes.
“What did I order?” Dylan voiced his question out loud.
Seth smiled genuinely. He nodded.
“It’s a surprise.”
He didn’t think her grin could get any wider.
