She slipped her fingers into his hand. “This is it,” she whispered, “the day we get married. I didn’t think we’d get this far, but we did…”

“And you didn’t even want to organise it.”

“I know. Not exactly feminine, was I?”

“Still aren’t… But I love you…”

They were silent as they listened to the preacher talk. They exchanged vows, and then they kissed, as man and wife.

“I never want this day to end…” she whispered, as they moved back down the aisle together.

“I can’t wait until the first morning we spend as man and wife…”

“Look out, we already are.”
